Sandeep Nair

Sandeep Nair started his career on a factory floor in Pune, troubleshooting a Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) system on the Tata Motors engine assembly line. Three months in, the project was weeks away from being written off. Sandeep wasn’t an RFID expert and all the people who were had already tried and failed. What he did, almost by accident, was talk to the line mechanics who actually used the system every day. That conversation cracked the problem open and saved the multi-million-dollar investment.

It also changed his career. Understanding machines was useful. But understanding the people who used them was more interesting. Soon after, he completed his MBA from IIM Bangalore and moved into marketing.

Over the next fifteen years, Sandeep built brands across India, the UK and Singapore for companies including P&G, Reckitt Benckiser, the Tata Group and Swiggy. He has worked on products sold in more than a dozen countries.

He writes regularly about marketing, strategy and the craft of storytelling on LinkedIn, X and his LinkedIn newsletter. He also runs workshops for founders, marketers and senior executives and mentors people trying to find their own voice at work.
