Ashutosh Garg

Ashutosh Garg is an acclaimed author, translator and columnist. He has translated over forty books in Hindi, including Ten Kings, The Palace of Illusions, The Art of Happiness, The Untethered Soul, Death under the Deodars, Lanka’s Princess, The Forty Rules of Love, Samsara, The Art of Being Alone and Mahagatha, most of them becoming bestsellers. He has also contributed significantly to the field of lexicography and children’s literature. He regularly writes in magazines and newspapers. Ashwatthama was his debut Hindi novel. It has since been translated and published in Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya and Assamese. Besides, he has authored other mythological novels in Hindi, including Indra, Kalki, Kuber and 4 Single Mothers.

Ashutosh was awarded the ‘Silver Star’ in 2016 by the late Dr Pranab Mukherjee, then President of India. He has also been conferred the Amar Ujala Bhasha Bandhu Sammaan (2023) and the Dainik Jagran Kriti Samman (2025), for his bestselling Hindi translations of the books, The Last Girl and Mahagatha: 100 Tales from the Puranas respectively.
