Dr. Dhruba Jyoti Borah is one of the most powerful voices in the contemporary literary scene of Assam. He has published more than thirty novels. His ‘Kalantar’ trilogy based on enquiries to in the turmoil and tragedy of Assam during the insurgency, his Sahitya Akademy (2009) winning novel ‘Katha Ratnakar’, his epic on the Kalaazar Pendemic of Assam in the last century – ‘Aajar’, ‘Innerlandscape’, ‘Pilgrimage of Donkeys’, ‘ He has received the Sahitya Akademi Award (2009), Publication Board Award, Times of India-Times Litfest Lifetime achievement Award, the Srijut Govardhan Ram Samman amongst others. A medical doctor by profession, Dr. Borah has also been awarded the prestigious Dr. B.C. Roy award of eminent medical teacher by President of India. He is the centenary President of Assam Sahitya Sabha one of the oldest and largest literary bodies of India.
