Does India still believe in Gandhi? Or, merely remembers him? In As Gandhi Resigns From India
Ashis Nandy asks this difficult question.

Nandy explores the growing distance between the Gandhi we celebrate and the values he stood for. He brings Gandhi out of history and into the present, asking what his ideas might offer a society confronting violence, inequality, communal divisions and environmental crisis.

Evocative, thought-provoking and deeply engaging, As Gandhi Resigns From India leaves us with is not whether Gandhi still belongs to India, but whether the India of today has any room left for Gandhi.
