Tarashankar Vandyopadhyaay was the famous Bangla literature. He was awarded with Gyan Peeth in 1966 for Gandevata. Tarashankar Vandyopadhyaay was also awarded with Padmbhushan in 1969 for literature and education. A novel written by him Arogya Niketan was awarded with Sahitya Acadamy in 1956.
