George Orwell

Eric Arthur Blair (George Orwell) (1903–1950) was an English novelist, essayist, and critic known for his writing on politics, society, and inequality. His experiences in Burma, Paris, London and during the Spanish Civil War shaped most of his works including Burmese Days, Down and Out in Paris and London and Homage to Catalonia. However, it was Animal Farm and Nineteen Eighty-Four that brought him worldwide fame and established his enduring reputation as one of the twentieth century’s most influential political writers.
