VAISHALI KI NAGARVADHU

Vaishali ki Nagarvadhu is a classic novel which is considered to be one of the best Hindi novels of all times. It is based on the life of Amrapali. Acharya Chatursen has said on the subject of this novel:
‘I take back all my books thus far and declare Vaishali ki Nagarvadhu as my only work.’
This novel presents a vivid image of life in India. The novel’s main character is a personification of pride and vanity, the universal beauty Ambapaali, who was declared a Vaishya by force, and remained the focus of all political and social life across India during her time, for half a century.

VAYAM RAKSHAMAH

This is Acharya Chatursen’s most popular novel, which is based on the Ram Katha, but whose protagonist is not Rama but Ravana. In this novel, the author details other aspects of Ravana’s personality that made him superior to Rama. According to this book, Ravana devised a new cultural system that would unite the North with the South, which he called the Rakshasanskriti. When Ravana went to Lord Shiva, he described the culture as ‘we protect. This is our rakshasanskriti.’

SOMNATH

This novel details the tragic tale of the fall of the Somnath Temple, which once radiated indescribable glory, in the wake of Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi’s seventeenth invasion.
