Anurag Bhaskar

Anurag Bhaskar is a legal scholar whose work spans constitutional law, social justice, access to justice, and court administration. He is an Adjunct Professor at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, where he oversees the activities of the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Chair on Constitutional Law and Social Inclusion. He is also Adjunct Faculty at O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, and Affiliate Faculty at the Center on the Legal Profession, Harvard Law School. He previously served as Additional Registrar and Director of the Centre for Research and Planning at the Supreme Court of India.

Bhaskar holds an LLM from Harvard Law School and a PhD in Law from O.P. Jindal Global University. He has held research fellowships at Harvard Law School and the University of Oxford and has presented his research at Melbourne Law School. A recipient of the Bluestone Rising Scholar Award from Brandeis University, his scholarship has been cited in three judgments of the Supreme Court of India. He is a co-founder of CEDE, which has arranged more than 500 internships for law students from marginalized communities since 2021.

Bhaskar is the author of The Foresighted Ambedkar: Ideas That Shaped Indian Constitutional Discourse (Penguin, 2024), which was among the final recommendations for the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2025 and on the final shortlist for the Kalinga Literary Festival Book Awards 2025 in the English Debut category. He is also co-editor of Justice for the Nation: Reflections on 75 Years of the Supreme Court of India (Thomson Reuters, 2024).
