Will AI Murder Us All? is a bold, thought-provoking guide to the ethical and existential challenges of artificial intelligence and the human choices that will shape whether it liberates or dominates us. As technology blurs the line between human and machine, Aakash Singh Rathore confronts a question we can’t ignore: What happens when intelligence outpaces wisdom?

At its core is moral psychology—the study of how moral decisions are actually made and acted on, both by humans and by the machines that humans build. Rathore reveals that the greatest dangers aren’t rogue AIs but systems embedded in institutions driven by competition, profit and power where ‘safe’ goals spiral into harm.

Drawing on social psychology—from obedience and conformity to diluted responsibility—the book shows how these forces warp human behaviour and get encoded into AI, normalizing damage at scale, whether through automated surveillance, biased algorithms or unchecked optimization.

Yet Rathore offers a clear path forward: we need an artificial ethics tailored to artificial intelligence, with the best paradigm being an artificial ethics of care. This shifts from rigid rules to designing AI around care, responsibility, relationships and protecting the vulnerable.

Provocative, accessible and urgent, Will AI Murder Us All? is both a cautionary tale and a blueprint for responsible innovation—calling us to build a future of dignity, accountability and human flourishing.
