Anastasia Damani

Anastasia Damani is an illustrator-turned-author, musician and theatre lover. When she’s not donning one of these hats, she likes curling up with a warm cup of tea. After completing her graduation from Symbiosis Institute of Design, Pune with a degree in communication design, she began her journey in her hometown, Kolkata, and now lives in København (Copenhagen). Anastasia enjoys writing and illustrating across mediums with children’s books as her first love. Through her work, she strives to promote love, confidence, respect and responsibility in children.

Lindsay Pereira

Lindsay Pereira was born and raised in Bombay. He studied at St Xavier’s College and the University of Mumbai and holds a PhD in literature for his work on gender attitudes implicit in nineteenth-century Indian fiction. He was co-editor with the late Eunice de Souza of Women’s Voices: Selections from Nineteenth and Early Twentieth Century Indian Writing in English (Oxford University Press). His first novel, Gods and Ends (Penguin Random House India), was shortlisted for the 2021 JCB Prize for Literature, and Tata Literature Live! First Book Award for Fiction. His second novel, The Memoirs of Valmiki Rao (Penguin Random House India), was published in 2023 and won the Godrej Literature Live! Fiction Book of the Year Award in 2024.

Danish Khan

Danish Khan is a journalist and historian living in London. He has been covering the UK and Europe for Times Now, ET Now and Mumbai Mirror for a decade. Prior to that, he worked as a journalist in Mumbai. Danish
was awarded the Martin Senior scholarship and the Amersi Foundation scholarship at the University of Oxford, where he is also involved in the Global History of Capitalism Project. He has taught history at the University
of Oxford and Stanford University.

Ruhi Khan is a London-based independent journalist. She has written on extradition cases for the Wire. She has worked with NDTV and Mumbai Mirror in India and been a curator at Twitter UK. Ruhi was a Jefferson
Fellow at the East West Center, US, and a recipient of the Mary Morgan Hewitt Award for Women in Journalism. She is an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) scholar at the London School of Economics and
Political Science and she also edits the Media@LSE Blog.

Ayesha Chenoy

Ayesha Chenoy is the founder of RepIndia, one of India’s largest independent digital advertising agencies. With a strong team of 400 people, the agency has digitally launched iconic brands like Burger King and Gap, and works with renowned names like Canon, JBL, Viacom, Oppo, JSW, Tata Trusts, etc. Ayesha studied economics at Cambridge University, where she received the Adam Smith Prize in 2001—an honor previously
awarded to Amartya Sen. Post that, she went to the London School of Economics. After a successful career
as an investment banker, she returned to India in 2009.

Her first book on mental health—To, The Bravest Person I Know was a bestseller that touched many hearts and lives. This is her first children’s book. In her words: “I’m not sure adults listen, so I’ve decided to speak to the kids instead.”

Sarah Joseph

Sarah Joseph is a highly acclaimed Malayalam novelist, short-story writer, political commentator and activist. She is the author of eight novels, nine collections of short fiction, five novelettes, and several plays, children literature and non-fiction books. Her many awards include the Sahitya Akademi Award, the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award, the Vayalar Award, the Crossword Award, the Padmaprabha Literary Award, the O Chandu Menon Award and the Shashwathi Award. Her name is inextricably linked with the feminist movement in Kerala and her radical writings inspired and paved the way for future generations of Malayali working women and activists.

Sangeetha Sreenivasan is a bilingual author of several works of fiction and children’s literature, including Acid published by Penguin Random House India. In addition to her original works, Sreenivasan has translated Elena Ferrante’s The Days of Abandonment into Malayalam. Her translation of one of Georges Simenon’s Maigret novels is forthcoming from Mathrubhumi Books. She is currently working on a translation of Chris Kraus’s cult feminist classic I Love Dick.

Ali Arshad

A.A. Jafri was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. He is an economist by day and a writer by night. Of Smokeless Fire is his first novel.

Rohit Gaur

Rohit Gaur grew up in New York City and would spend his evenings at the local bookshop reading myths and adventure stories from around the world. Influenced by Marvel comics, Star Wars, anime and the cartoons he grew up watching, he often dreamt of creating a magical world based on India’s rich mythology, traditions and culture with fantastical beasts. His favourite writers and directors include J.K. Rowling, Rick Riordan, George Lucas, Guillermo del Toro, Peter Jackson and Hayao Miyazaki. Rohit lives with his family in New Jersey and travels to India often.
