Anirban Mahapatra has been involved in science and scientific publishing for over two decades. He’s written about numerous health- and biology-related topics including cancer, neuroscience and infectious diseases. He earned his PhD in microbiology at the Ohio State University (Columbus, Ohio, USA). Anirban takes a deep personal interest in microorganisms too. He likes to travel, cook, read and write poetry, and lives just outside Washington DC.

Nisha Agrawal is an economist who has worked on poverty, inequality and social development issues for more than 30 years. She was the first CEO of Oxfam India for 10 years from 2008-2018. During this period, she focused Oxfam’s work on the most lagging states and the most marginalized groups. Prior to that, Nisha worked with the World Bank for almost 20 years. She has extensive experience working in countries in the East Asia Region (especially Cambodia, Vietnam and Indonesia) and in the East Africa Region (Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda). Prior to that, for four years, Nisha was a Research Associate at the Impact Research Centre at Melbourne University in Australia. Nisha has a Ph.D in Economics from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, and an M.A. in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics. Currently, Nisha is an active member of civil society networks and organizations promoting social justice, with a special interest in promoting gender equality.

Rohini S. Rajagopal was leading a fairly humdrum life in Bangalore when an encounter with infertility stopped her in her tracks. In a temporary suspension of good sense, she quit her well-paying, flexible-hours job to write this book that narrates her journey from infertility to motherhood. But for her current penury, she has no regrets about that move.

Sekhar Mukherjee works as director at NID, Vijayawada, after a long stint as senior faculty of communication design at NID, Ahmedabad. He is an animation-film designer and graphic novelist, and is artistic director of the Chitrakatha International Student Animation Festival. He won the Best Animation Teacher Award from CNBC-TV18 and is one of the founders of Longform Graphic Anthology.

SAAD S. KHAN is a historian and a political
scientist. For the past five years, he has been a faculty member at the National School of Public Policy in Lahore, Pakistan. Khan was a Cambridge-OSI Trust scholar at the University of Cambridge, the UK, and a Fulbright non-degree professional scholar at the Institute for Training and Development, Amherst, Massachusetts, the US.

SARA S. KHAN holds a master’s degree in public administration. She has mainly worked in the social sector, including as the head of the Mohammad Ali Jinnah Academy, Quetta; at the Red Crescent Society, Lahore; and at Averox, Islamabad.

Amaru was a Sanskrit poet who probably wrote around the 9th century. Although virtually nothing is known about his life, his Amaru Shatakam is one of the most admired collections of love lyrics in the Sanskrit language.
