Celebrity chef Rakhee Vaswani is a cookery expert and a Cordon Bleu-trained chef who is successfully leading Palate Culinary Studio, a first-of-its-kind initiative equipped with a state-of-the-art kitchen. Her celebrity students include Malaika Arora Khan, Mini Mathur, Radhika and Shaan, Gauri Tejwani, Manasi Joshi Roy and Rakshanda Khan. She writes an online column for I-Diva and has also been featured in various newspapers, magazines and TV shows (including The Foodie on Times Now hosted by Kunal Vijaykar and The Khan Sisters on Bindass). She is currently hosting her own TV show Rewind with Rakhee on Living Foodz, India’s first foodtainment channel.
She is passionate about food and believes that it’s the perfect remedy for all problems. She also believes strongly in sharing the art of cooking. She uses the best quality ingredients to replicate international cuisines at home with ease. She feels at peace and is happiest when in a kitchen.

Mirza Waheed was born and brought up in Kashmir. His debut novel The Collaborator was an international bestseller and was shortlisted for the Guardian First Book Award and the Shakti Bhatt Prize, and longlisted for the Desmond Elliott Prize. It was also book of the year for Telegraph, New Statesman, Financial Times, Business Standard and the Telegraph (India), among others. Waheed has written for the BBC, Guardian, Granta, Guernica, Al JazeeraEnglish and the New York Times. He lives in London.

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was one of India’s most distinguished scientists, responsible for the development of India’s first satellite launch vehicle and the operationalization of strategic missiles. He was also the President of India between 2002 and 2007.

PROF. SURYA PRATAP MEHROTRA has the unique distinction of enjoying the longest continuous formal association with IIT Kanpur-for almost forty-nine years-starting July 1963, when he joined the institute as a BTech student until June 2012, when he superannuated as professor. Since July 2012, Prof. Mehrotra has been a visiting professor at IIT Gandhinagar, where he also serves as the professor-in-charge (R&D), and professor-in-charge (external relations).

DR PRAJAPATI PRASAD SAH is a well-known linguist in literary and academic circles. After obtaining his PhD from the University of York in 1970, he joined IIT Kanpur as assistant professor, and taught a course on the English language and linguistics until his retirement in 2001.

Andrew Small has worked on Chinese foreign and economic policy issues in Beijing, Brussels, London, and now Washington, D.C. He is a Transatlantic Fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States. He previously worked as the director of the Foreign Policy Centre’s Beijing office. His articles and papers have been published in outlets including the New York Times.

Amishi Seth has been writing for children for almost a decade as an author, playwright and screenplay writer. She has over fifty successful projects to her credit, including published stories, plays, animation shows and movies. She has written for some of the most well-known children’s properties in India like Chota Bheem and Krishna Balram, as well as for renowned firms like the Times of India, Raell Padamsee’s ACE Productions, Birla Edutech and ADAPT (formerly the Spastics Society of India), among others.

Gyonpo Tshering is currently chief librarian at the National Library of Bhutan in the capital city of Thimpu, where he lives. He has a BA in Buddhist philosophy from Semtokha Rigzhung Institute and has translated and written a number of books on Bhutanese history and religion.

Samanth Subramanian’s journalism has appeared in the Guardian, New York Times, New Yorker, Bloomberg and WIRED. Following Fish won the Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize in 2010 and was shortlisted for the Andre Simon Award in 2013. His second book, This Divided Island, won the 2015 Crossword Prize for Non-Fiction and was shortlisted for the Samuel Johnson Non Fiction Prize and the Royal Society of Literature’s Ondaatje Prize the same year. His third book, A Dominant Character, was featured in the New York Times ‘100 Notable Books of 2020’ and Wall Street Journal’s ‘Ten Best Books of 2020’. His latest book is The Web Beneath the Waves, an exploration of the undersea data cables that gird our planet and make our online world possible—and of the chaos that follows when they snap.
