N. Venkat Venkatraman

N. Venkat Venkatraman is the David J. McGrath Jr. Professor of Management at the Questrom School of Business, Boston University, where he holds a joint appointment in Information Systems/Strategy and Innovation. He has previously taught at the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and at the London Business School. He is considered one of the foremost authorities on how companies win in digital business where products, processes, and services are shaped and supported by information and communication technology. Widely published in leading academic journals and recognized as a top-cited researcher by Google Scholar, he lectures and conducts digital strategy workshops with companies such as IBM, Merck, Ericsson, BP, Canal+, and others. He lives in Boston, Massachusetts.

Nirupama Dutt

Lal Singh Dil (1943-2007) was born in Ghungrali Sikha village near Samrala, a small town in Punjab in a chamar family that had neither land, money nor education. He was the first in his clan to complete school and join college for a basic teachers’ training course when he was drawn towards the Naxalite movement. Dil’s was a life of immense struggle and his poetry made him a legend well within his lifetime. His works include three collections of poetry, Satluj di Hava (The Satluj Breeze), Bahut Saare Suraj (A Million Suns) and Naaglok (City of Snakes); an autobiography called Dastaan; and a narrative long poem called Billa Aj Phir Aaya (Billa Visited Again Today).

Ray Satyajit

Satyajit Ray (1921-92) was one of the greatest film-makers of his time. In 1992, he was awarded the Oscar for Lifetime Achievement by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In the same year, he was also honoured with the Bharat Ratna. Ray was also a writer of repute, and his short stories, novellas, poems and articles, written in Bengali, have been immensely popular. He has published several books in Bengali, most of which became bestsellers. He is also the author of the famous Feluda stories, the translations of which have been made available by Penguin.

Ruth Vanita (Author)
Ruth Vanita taught at Delhi University for twenty years and is now professor at the University of Montana. She was founding co-editor of Manushi, 1978-90. She is the author of several books, including Love’s Rite: Same-Sex Marriages in Modern India (2005); Gender, Sex and the City: Urdu Rekhti Poetry in India 1780-1870 (2012); and Dancing with the Nation: Courtesans in Bombay Cinema (2017). She is the co-editor of Same-Sex Love in India: A Literary History, and has translated many works of fiction and poetry from Hindi and Urdu to English, most notably Chocolate: Stories on Male-Male Desire by Pandey Bechan Sharma ‘Ugra’ (2008). This is her first work of fiction. She divides her time between Missoula and Gurgaon.

Saleem Kidwai (Author)
Saleem Kidwai is a historian and independent scholar, who taught at Ramjas College, Delhi University, for twenty years. He has published several academic essays on medieval and modern India, and translated several works, including Song Sung True: A Memoir by Malka Pukhraj and a collection of Syed Rafiq Hussain’s short stories, The Mirror of Wonders. Apart from the author herself, he is the only person to have translated the novels of Qurratulain Hyder, Chandni Begum and Ship of Sorrow.
