Jyotin Goelis a television writer and film-maker. He wrote and directed the animatedchildren’s film Bird Idol for Warner Bros. He lives in Mumbai.

SRINATH PERUR writes about science, travel and books among other things and translates from Kannada to English. He is the author of the travelogue If It’s Monday It Must Be Madurai and the translator of This Life at Play and Ghachar Ghochar.

Dr Pinky Anand, a trustee of The Arts and Cultural Heritage Trust is a designated senior advocate at the Supreme Court of India and the incumbent Additional Solicitor General of India. A doctorate of law, graduate of Harvard Law School, an Inlaks scholar, honorary professor at Amity Law School, she is the second woman in India to have been awarded this high constitutional law office.

Her accomplishments extend from legal expertise to media, politics and social activism. The causes espoused by her have led us towards milestone changes in the legal fabric vis-à-vis the development of the country, right of free speech, eradication of malpractices and protection of children.

Her various laurels include being an alternate country councillor (India) of LAWASIA and the vice president of the Bar Association of India. She has been the recipient of the National Order of Merit awarded by the President of France, and has several awards to her credit, including those for excellence in law awarded by FICCI, Lions Club, Amity University, Bharat Nirman, PHD Chamber for Progress, Harmony and Development. She has also been a spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party and was even leading its all-India legal team at one point.

As a founding member of the BRICS Legal Forum, she has represented India in various Brazil, China and India meets, and is a member of the Group of Experts for Commonwealth for Drafting Model Law on Cyber Crime.

She has also co-authored a book on international jurisdictions.

Shivoham
A former professional swimmer and water polo player, Shivoham has trained Bollywood actors Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha, Jacqueline Fernandez, Neha Dhupia, Ranveer Singh, Jacky Bhagnani, Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Parineeti Chopra, Shaad Ali and Ayan Mukherjee, who swear by his diet and workout regime.
Shivoham combines gymnastics, weightlifting and strength conditioning to ensure all his clients at CrossFitOM, his gym in Mumbai, are fit. He also guides them as a nutritionist and physiotherapist. He ascribes to the philosophy that the fitness journey starts in the mind and training it is just as important as physical exercise in order to achieve fitness goals.

Shrenik Avlani
Shrenik is a newsroom veteran with nearly two decades of work experience with leading newspapers including the Hindustan Times and Deccan Chronicle, and sports bodies such as the BCCI. On a break from full-time work since 2012, he has also covered the FIFA Football World Cup and the Olympics. As a leading writer in the field of
endurance sport and fitness, he contributes to the Mint, Vogue, The Hindu, GQ, National Geographic Traveller, FirstPost, Mumbai Mirror, Bangalore Mirror, Sports Illustrated, Guardian and other publications in Dubai and England.
Shrenik uses his new-found freedom to explore the world, keep fit and catch up on sleep. He has lectured at Symbiosis Commerce College (Pune), Christ University (Bangalore) and Wichita State University (Kansas, USA).

Paranjoy Guha Thakurta is a senior journalist. His work experience spans nearly four decades, cutting across different media: print, radio, television and documentary cinema. He is a writer, speaker, anchor, interviewer, teacher and commentator in English, Bangla and Hindi. He participates frequently in, and organizes, seminars and conferences. He is a regular contributor to publications and websites and frequently appears on the radio and on television channels as an anchor as well as analyst. Till recently, he was the editor of the Economic and Political Weekly. He is also a prolific author and has published several books including Gas Wars and Media Ethics

Shinzani Jain is an independent researcher and law graduate from Indian Society Law College, Pune. Some of her writings have been published by the Economic and Political Weekly, Hoot, Newslaundry and Round Table India. She has co-authored the book The Black Hole: How Black Economy and Cronyism Bled the Indian Economy. She is currently pursuing a master’s in sociology from Ambedkar University, New Delhi.

Prashant Bhushan is an eminent public interest lawyer in the Supreme Court of India, most known for cases such as 2G and Coal Scam. He is also an activist and a founder member of Swaraj Abhiyan-a campaign organization that focuses on various issues such as the environment, human rights, corruption and good governance. He was a prominent member of the group India Against Corruption (IAC) and worked alongside Anna Hazare for the implementation of the Jan Lokpal Bill (Citizen’s Anti-corruption Ombudsman Bill).

Rajmohan Gandhi, born in 1935, has written, among other works, The Good Boatman: A Portrait of Gandhi (Viking), Understanding the Muslim Mind (Penguin) and Patel: A Life.
Currently, he is a professor with the Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi.

Akash Kapur has written for various publications, including The Economist, the New Yorker, the New York Times,Granta, the Statesman (New Delhi) and Outlook.

He is the former ‘Letter from India’ columnist for the International Herald Tribune. This is his first book. Akash holds a BA in social anthropology from Harvard University and a doctorate in law from Oxford University, which he attended as a Rhodes Scholar. Akash lives with his wife and two children outside Pondicherry, where he also grew up.
