Born in 1944 into a Brahmin family at Nagpur, Subramaniam Ramadorai is a man steeped in simplicity and discipline. Ramadorai retired as CEO & MD of Tata Consultancy Services in 2009, after serving the company for thirty-nine years; he continues to work with TCS in the capacity of Vice-Chairman, and is actively involved as Chairman/Director of various Tata and non-Tata companies and educational institutions. He took on a public service responsibility when the Indian government appointed him as the Advisor to the Prime Minister in the National Skill Development Council with the rank of a Cabinet minister.
Ramadorai was awarded the Padma Bhushan, one of India’s highest civilian honours, in 2006 and the CBE in 2009. Among his many interests, Ramadorai is passionate about photography and Indian classical music. His wife Mala is an accomplished musician and an active educator; his son Tarun is a Reader in Finance at the Saïd Business School while his daughter-in-law Purnima is a film producer in the UK, where she runs her own production company. Vimal Kumar studied journalism at the Indian Institute of Mass
Communication (II MC), Delhi, and started his professional career with the
International Management Group’s Trans World International (IMG-TWI).
He has since worked for TV Today Network (Aaj Tak and Headlines Today)
and Network18 (IBN7 and CNN-IBN) in their Hindi and English channels
as a sports journalist. Besides his regular work on television as deputy
sports editor for IBN7, he has also contributed to publications like Sports
Illustrated, Outlook, Mid-Day, the Tribune, Child, Cricket Samrat, Cricket Today
and websites like IBNlive.com, Cricketnext.com and IBNkhabar.com.

Subroto Bagchi is chairman and co-founder of Mindtree, one of India’s most admired software companies. Dr T.V. Rao is considered to be the father of HRD in India. He is a teacher, social entrepreneur and institution builder. Born in rural India, he was brought up by his mother and grandparents. He got a degree in BSc from Andhra Loyola College; BEd from Regional College of Education, Mysore; MA in psychology from Osmania University; and PhD from Sardar Patel University. He is associated with pioneering the departments of psychology at the Andhra and Udaipur universities and the Education and Training Department at the National Institute of Health Administration and Education, New Delhi. He joined Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in 1973 and taught until 1994 as a full-time professor and subsequently as a visiting/adjunct professor until 2014. He is currently a member of the IIMA Society and on the board of governors of the institute. Dr Rao founded the National HRD Network and the Academy of HRD, both renowned institutions in HRD. He has authored around sixty books including Managers Who Make a Difference. He has two daughters and a son and lives in Ahmedabad with his wife and son.
