Zia Mody

Zia Mody is one of India’s foremost corporate attorneys. She co-founded AZB & Partners, one of India’s leading corporate law firms, and is senior partner at its Mumbai offices. Zia has been consistently ranked by renowned international business law journals as one of India’s and Asia’s best mergers and acquisitions lawyers, most powerful CEOs and commercial arbitration specialists. She was a vice president of the London Court of International Arbitration (2009-13) and is a director of the London Court of International Arbitration, India. She has also been a member of the World Bank Administrative Tribunal (2007-12). She is on several government committees on financial reforms and corporate governance. Zia read law at University of Cambridge and Harvard Law School, and is a member of the New York State Bar. She is the daughter of legal luminary Soli J. Sorabjee.

Rudrangshu Mukherjee

RUDRANGSHU MUKHERJEE is Chancellor and Professor of History at Ashoka University of which he was the founding Vice Chancellor. He holds a D. Phil. in Modern History from the University of Oxford. He taught at the University of Calcutta and has held visiting appointments at Princeton University and the University of California, Santa Cruz amongst others. He was the Editor, Editorial Pages, The Telegraph. He is internationally acclaimed as a historian of the revolt of 1857 in India, on which he has published six books. He has also written on other themes relating to the history of modern India. His most recent book is Tagore & Gandhi: Walking Alone, Walking Together.

Jaimini Bhagwati

Jaimini Bhagwati is a former IFS officer, economist and foreign policy expert. He was high commissioner to the UK and ambassador to the European Union, Belgium and Luxembourg. Bhagwati has served in senior positions in the Government of India, including in foreign affairs, finance and atomic energy. In the World Bank, he was a specialist in international bond and derivatives markets; he was the RBI chair professor at ICRIER; and is a Board member of IDFC’s holding company.

Bhagwati did his master’s in physics from St Stephen’s College, Delhi, master’s in finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA and received his PhD in finance from Tufts University, USA. He has published research papers in several books, ICRIER and at the World Bank. He has been a columnist for Business Standard since 2005.

Gaur Gopal Das

Madhuri Banerjee

Madhuri is a multifaceted media professional, having worked in all forms of the visual medium—as a senior producer with Zoom TV; on advertisements with White Light Motion Pictures; as a director in her own production house, Gray Matter Solution; as a freelancer on documentaries with PSBT; and as assistant director of commercial Bollywood films. She has worked with stalwarts like Subhash Ghai, Kaizad Gustad and Rohan Sippy, and music director Anu Malik. Madhuri graduated from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi and she has a master’s in Mass Communication and Films from Jamia Millia Islamia. Her thesis film Between Dualities won her the National Award for best documentary on women’s issues. She is an avid reader, world traveller and film watcher. She gives relationship advice in a column called Love Guru in the Asian Age and Deccan Chronicle and writes a blog called Chastity Belt for CNN-IBN. Arundhathi Subramaniam

Arundhathi Subramaniam is a poet and spiritual traveler. Harinder Sikka

Harinder S. Sikka is currently the group director, strategic business, Piramal Group. After graduating from Delhi University, he joined the Indian Navy. He was commissioned in January 1981 and took premature retirement in 1993 as a Lieutenant Commander.

He recently produced a film, Nanak Shah Fakir, which won acclaim at the Cannes, Toronto and Los Angeles international film festivals. The film won three national awards including the Nargis Dutt Award for best feature film on national integration.

Calling Sehmat is his second book and has been made into a film, Raazi, by Meghna Gulzar.

Sikka lives in Delhi with his family.
