Sabin Iqbal

Journalist-turned-literary curator, Sabin Iqbal is author of the critically acclaimed novels The Cliffhangers and Shamal Days. He is curator of the Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters. He was Festival Director of Alliance Literature Festival at Alliance University, Bangalore. The former editorial director of Kochi-Muziris Biennale, Sabin has worked with Outlook, Tehelka, Business India, The Gulf Today and Sports Today, amongst others.

Stephen P. Groff

Stephen P. Groff is an economist and the inaugural Governor of the National Development Fund (NDF) of Saudi Arabia. Groff was previously ranking Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Groff also served as Deputy Director for Development Cooperation at the Paris-based Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development and as Deputy Vice-President for Operations at the Washington-based Millennium Challenge Corporation. In addition to publishing research in peer-reviewed academic journals, Groff writes regularly on climate change and development-related issues, including for Project Syndicate, The Wall Street Journal, The Hill, The Guardian and The Huffington Post. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Groff is a graduate of Yale University and the Kennedy School at Harvard University and has a PhD from Erasmus University’s School of Social and Behavioural Science in the Netherlands.

Adhirath Sethi

Adhirath Sethi is a businessman and author, based in Bangalore. He is also a trustee for the Agastya International Foundation. He is an alumnus of The Rishi Valley School, Eton College, and the London School of Economics. A former management consultant with the Boston Consulting Group, he took an all too eager plunge into entrepreneurship in 2008. In 2019, to commemorate Agastya’s two decades since inception, a proposal was put forth to capture the story of the foundation’s remarkable journey. He spent the first half of 2022 interviewing anyone that might have insights into Agastya. Speaking with everyone from front-line workers to donors, to board members, and senior management, the inside story of Agastya began to emerge.

As a board member of the Agastya International Foundation, and as Chairman of the Navam Foundation, Adhirath’s involvement in the NGO space spans over ten years and includes contributions to fundraising, operations management and strategy.

Sajjan Yadav

Author and bureaucrat Sajjan Yadav is an officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) 1995 batch, Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre. His last book, titled India’s Vaccine Growth Story: From Cowpox to Vaccine Maitri, is a national bestseller that was translated and published in Spanish as well as sixteen Indian languages. He has also extensively published in reputed international and national journals, magazines and newspapers. Yadav earned his doctorate in public health from the prestigious London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), a master’s in public policy from the University of Minnesota, USA, and an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University.
He is currently additional secretary in the department of expenditure, ministry of finance, Government of India. Yadav has a rich and diverse experience of thirty years in policy formulation and implementation, as well as in senior leadership positions in the Government of India and state governments. In the Central government, besides the finance ministry, he has also worked in the ministries of health and family welfare, women and child development, heavy industry, and public enterprises and corporate affairs. Important assignments handled by Yadav in the past include tenures as mission director of the National Nutrition Mission (POSHAN Abhiyan), director of the National Rural Health Mission, commissioner of food and supplies in Delhi, CEO of Delhi Jal Board, VAT commissioner, commissioner of excise, entertainment and luxury
tax and commissioner of the East Delhi Municipal Corporation. He has worked in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Rajasthan, and the Union Territories of National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. He has further served as district magistrate/deputy commissioner of East Kameng and Tawang districts of Arunachal Pradesh, and of the South Delhi district of NCT of Delhi.
Yadav has been conferred many awards for exceptional work in public service, including the National e-Governance Award for 2017–18 and the President of India’s medal for outstanding work in census operations.
